Property taxes are due May 11, 2026 and November 10, 2026.
People may pay in person by bringing their property tax bill to the Treasurer’s office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Property taxes may also be paid by mail by sending your property tax bill with your payment to Wells County Treasurer, 102 W. Market St., Suite 204, Bluffton, IN 46714. Please keep in mind that unless you request a postmark directly from the post office, your envelope may not get postmarked the day you drop it off. The Treasurer's Office is required by law to use the postmark to determine whether a payment is considered on time or not.
Property taxes may also be dropped off at the following banks : First Bank of Berne, F&M Bank (in Bluffton or Ossian) or 1st Source Bank.
Property taxes maybe be paid online by visiting www.wellscounty.org or paid by phone, calling toll-free 1 (877) 690-3729 and using Jurisdiction Code: 2438. Fees will be incurred when using a debit or credit card, or an e-check.
