Open Position - Custodian

Wells County Government is accepting resumes for a Custodian.  This person is responsible for cleaning and minor maintenance tasks within and around the County Courthouse and Annex building, under the direction of the county executive.  The county custodian shall, subject to the policies of the county executive, perform the following functions and have related experience:

 

  • Ability to follow general work schedules and instructions in performance of standard tasks
  • Some knowledge of general cleaning processes and techniques required to maintain proper health conditions within Courthouse and Annex
  • Ability to operate equipment such as snow blowers, buffing and scrubbing machine, and to use small hand tools including hammer, rake, drill saw, mop, broom, etc.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance and repair operations
  • Ability to deal with the public in a helpful and courteous manner
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as necessary
  • Ability to set up appointments with contractors
  • Ability to set up and work within budget
  • Ability to work with computer programs for heating System
  • Ability to collect bids and quotes for Courthouse and Annex Repairs
  • Ability to purchase supplies and equipment
  • Ability to set up and change security codes for Courthouse and Annex
