Sheriff Monte Fisher joined the Wells County Sheriffs’ Dept. in 1976 as a Reserve Officer. He was hired on Full-time on January 1, 1977. He briefly retired in September, 2008 until elected Sheriff and started his first term on January 1, 2011. Sheriff Fisher was re-elected for his second term as Sheriff in November of 2014.
Sheriff Fisher has been married to Bonnie McAfee for 42 years. They have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.
